Frugality, Opportunity & Reform --
for New Hampshire's future!
![]()
The New Hampshire economy is synonymous with small business. The addition of new and successful small businesses will drive our economic recovery and spur job growth. But, first we must reverse the trend of the past few years – a trend that has created a hostile environment for businesses, employers and jobs in New Hampshire.
According to the non-partisan Tax Foundation, we have the worst business income tax ratings in the country. (See Report Here) Because we have discouraged businesses to locate here, 1 in 6 New Hampshire workers leave the state for their job, ranking us an unenviable second only to one other state for the number of workers crossing the border to go to work. (See Report Here)
Making matters worse, just last year Governor Lynch signed into law an LLC tax on small business that dramatically increases their cost of doing business. We must be determined to reverse this trend. We will make New Hampshire the most business-friendly state in the country. Here are several ideas for accomplishing that goal:
- Immediately eliminate the job-killing LLC tax and refund every penny that has been paid back to the businesses who can use it to expand and create jobs
- Reduce the Business Profit tax so that the tax is the lowest in the region promoting new job development here in NH rather than elsewhere.
- Put the lid on the rooms and meals tax that hurts our hospitality industry
- Veto any broad-based income or sales tax
- Eliminate unnecessary regulation and bureaucracy that forces people to take time away from being productive
- Promote incentives for businesses to relocate here and create new jobs
- Reduce health insurance costs through interstate competition, eliminating mandates and price shopping by making the cost of health care more transparent
- Partner with our public and private universities whose research and innovation can spur the growth of high-wage technology jobs
Under our plan, the Governor’s Office will lead the way for the Granite State in making the case around the globe that New Hampshire is a wonderful place to locate and grow. We have an outstanding quality of life here and we need to promote the exceptional characteristics of our state.
